As Monday approaches, many of us are focussed on the week ahead, what needs to be done or what we want to achieve.
Don't get me wrong, it is so important to be setting intentions, goals and to-do lists for the week...
more than that.. It is also really important to take the time to stop and acknowledge yourself for the previous week.
As I sit here this Sunday afternoon and set out my intentions for the week, reply to emails, timetable new client discovery calls and meal prep.. I ask myself..
WHAT DO I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE MYSELF FOR?
It's easy to ask ourselves.. what did I forget to do? What did I stuff up? What do I need to do better next week?
How about actually just finding one positive?
For me, the week was a bit of a rollercoaster.
The ups of working with and booking new clients..
and the downs of these stomach issues and the many tests that comes with that.
Last time I was sick, my life went downhill very quickly. I was so consumed by illness and stress that I turned to eating and suppressing my emotions.
This time was different, I chose to tune into how I was feeling and seek support when I wasn't doing so well, I spoke about what I was going through instead of internalising everything and chose to focus on loving myself through it rather than a quick 'mood alteration' like I previously found in food.
If I didn't take the time to sit with my thoughts today and ask myself such a simple question.. I wouldn't have recognised the progress I've made. Sure it's small.. but it's progress and it's all part of my healing journey.
So ladies, it's your turn..
