This mornings sweat fest! Made it up on the spot and loved it! 
I worked to what I was capable of and some I would’ve loved 10 reps but at the time I was blowing so bad I decided 8 was a better number! The burpee pull ups at the end I had 5 in mind but after 3 on the first round I thought I had better lessen them as doubtful I would match them for 3 more rounds 😂🙈🤪 I love thinking of workouts like this and just rolling with it. 
Throw in a bike ride 🚲 in the middle of the day and my legs are cooked 🔥

Another throwback to the weekend and our Citywide barbell crew!  Smashing it out at Round 2 of the Chris Chugg Memorial Presidents cup.  Having to endure the 40 degree heat certainly made things more challenging, but they all persevered and we saw some great lifts!!

She smashed the combo at Tooradin in Melbourne for @spartanraceau super 13.5km and sprint 6.5km in 36 + deg heat. 
I was so glad I got to whiteness her over come some big fears and obstacles that she has had trouble with in the past.

What a massive Achievement this babe has made. 
Nearly 2 years ago she joined up to do one of our 28 day challenges in May 2017. walked through our front doors shy, no confidence, no idea what was ahead of her, 30+ kg heavier.

March 2019 she has just smashed out a combo Spartan race over in Tooradin Melbourne on the weekend. Super 13.5km and sprint 6.5km with our @citywide_fitness  @spartanraceau Crew.

A little throwback to @spartanraceau Melbourne back in 2017 where it all began for me at Lake Dewar (pictured).
No way did I ever imagine myself going to a Spartan Race when I walked in the doors of Citywide, and pretty much admired anyone who went to these events.
A year later, 25kgs lighter and a whole bunch stronger, I took the plunge and signed up for a Super/Sprint combo. 
I remember crossing the finish line and receiving that medal for the 14km Super race and feeling such an amazing sense of achievement.  Definitely a very satisfying part of my Citywide Fitness journey!
I'd finally done it, I AM SPARTAN! 🙌🏽

This Saturday I head over with a Citywide team to hit Melbs again, this time in Tooradin, with quite a few for the very first time!  It’s always awesome being able to share these moments with a great bunch of people, and seeing them challenge themselves and do things they never thought they could.  The best part are the bonds that get made and the camaraderie that forms. -
Wherever you are in your journey, whether you're 6 months in or you're just kickstarting a healthier lifestyle.  Just believe you can achieve great things!  Stick with it, stay on track, stay consistent, train hard!  Keep setting those goals and challenging yourself and you will get there, trust me 😉

Scale if required and aim for a minimum of 10 reps or calories each minute. 
I did exact to the board so stoked! 2 x 28kg KB for the deadlifts, rower for the calories, all push ups from toes and got ALL burpees done Woop woop!

Get in and do the work. You won’t always like it but I’m a big believer that you can and should enjoy a large portion of your training.

I love a good kettlebell goblet clean!especially a heavy one!! Always guaranteed to have me breathing hard in a short amount of time!  It’s such a great all rounder movement!  Working everything from the legs and glutes, as well as that core, back, grip and arms.  I thought I’d take the 64kg for a spin before coaching the peeps tonight 😆😎

In 2018 I did 7 burpees.

I’ve rounded that up incase I forgot a few...there was that one Fit session I did too that might have had some...either way it was close to zero!

Why? Because reasons...

I don’t like them and cherry picked what I would and wouldn’t do, that’s probably the biggest reason.

I’ve had a few issues with my shoulder/s although this really only added weight to my first reason!

That’s not to say the subs I took were any easier! The intended stimulus of a workout was always met!

Low and behold when I did them last week they didn’t hurt (my shoulder that is...hurt my legs and lungs!) and I did 220 in two workouts...followed up with 60 today.
-
They’re still not my favourite exercise...come to think of it they never will be...but it’s good to know I’ve still got the mobility, strength and fitness to crank through a few.
- 
Biggest mobility tip...work on hip flexion and your toe touch...makes them so much easier when these are in order!

My First session with these guys today. I'll be honest, I felt a bit green around the gills near the end..haha..but I made it (all be it half dead)!!! It's been I while since I've worked that hard 😏 Nothing like punishing myself for all the unhealthy things I've done to my body over the last 12 months but my ass needed kicking so hahaha, Sucked in me..!!😖 🤣 .
That said this is why I like group sessions. Be it crossfit, lifting, strength and conditioning, Pilates, or spin classes, WHAT ever your into.  You show up and there you have it,  A built in support crew!! A room full of people that are doing the exact same thing as you and you're all pushing together and supporting each other. Im doing the six week change your body challenge. 
I'm starting with 3 days a week. One fitness day two strength (maybe 3 strength later) Two major things this particular gym brings for me 1:  more accountability  2: I can take my kids. @james.garlick threw out the challenge with the 85kg deadball carries and I’m pretty damn happy I could do them!

First time doing heavy ball carries for about 18 months! I’ve been doing other carries and regular lifting but these are a different beast!

Full workout was:
🔥 Carpark Run (350m)
🔥 3 max vertical jumps
🔥 4 pull-ups
🔥 5 kettlebell rows
🔥 6 double kettlebell deadlifts
🔥 15m deadball carry

Just because you may have injured or hurt yourself, doesn’t mean you have to STOP working out 🏋️‍♂️ Modify your workout to what you can do. 
There is ALWAYS SOMETHING 😊💪🏻 There is so many benefits to working out that exceed the physical.

1. Community 
2. Connections
3. Routine
4. Endorphins 
5. Mentally.....
When you feel like the world has it against you, all you want to do is just stop 🛑 but why, why do you have to stop and give up!!!!!
You don’t, keep moving, it will help your recovery, if you stop it’s sooooo much harder to get back into the swing of it again.

Well this is something I NEVER thought I would do. 
Way to hard for me. 
Next minute I'm flying to Melbourne to drive to Bright ( with a wicked amazing bunch of people). Woke up Sat morning did the Super 14km (really about 16.5km) thought how the hell am I going to do the Sprint 7km (really 8.5km) only had about an hour to recover and off we went.

I was wrecked, sat night I was trying to think of EVERYTHING under the sun not to do sundays Beast 21km (really 24.5km) but I couldn't think of ANYTHING.

Came Sunday morning and off we went to climb Mystic mountain not Once but TWICE. My heart just was not in it...... hit about 1km in and I thought bugger it change your mood Meghan you have to do it now. Glad I did as I would of kicked myself if I didn't finish. 
Thank god for having so many people believing in me, because I didn't. 
Yes it was hard 
Yes I struggled
Yes I cried sooooo many times during the sprint and the super. 
Yes I wanted to give up in sooooo many occasions. 
Physically but more so mentally challenging.

Your body is so much more capable than you think, Your mind will give up before your body does.

Big shout out @_racheal_lea_ for giving me the support from back home, couldn’t have done it without you. 
@james.garlick , @paulsandi79  and @grizzlypenguin  for having my back and staying by my side even when they could of gone a head. 
If you don’t think you can that’s bull, believe in yourself because you can.

Well that creeped up on me. 😓😓 After first round on squats I was like how the hell am I going to do another 2.
So had to use the belt.

Got my sweat up this morning. Oh my legs are cooked. 
Also did a quick 12 min workout 🏋️‍♀️ out New Town Citywide as had a client.
6 mins 15 on 15 off
Jump on and off 20kg plate as fast as you can. Then swing 24kg
Next 6 mins 
Max burpees 
Swing 24kg. 
Was a good one to get that heart rate up.

Whoa! What a sweat fest 💦 that was! 
Just under 40 minutes of pure hard work, I reckon I will feel it tomorrow 🤢🤮 I was dripping in sweat 💦 but the feeling afterwards is tops! 
For those who love a challenge give this one a go! I did push ups from my knees, 3kg slammers and a medium height step for the split jumps! (@galvanized_fitness here you go babes!)

🏃‍♀️After a bit of running this week, I found my ankles have pulled up super tight. 
I knew I didnt have great mobility/ range in them, and this week has shown that. ⚀So day 1 of ankle mobility it is for me.

10KM row! Happy to have ticked that off the list of things to do! 
Was super fun. 
From the beginning I was tracking at finishing around the 41 minute mark and glad I stayed on pace and did!

Albeit now I look back and would love under 40 minutes but still think I did a good job. 
It is such a mental workout. Just keep rowing just keep rowing, kinda like Finding nemo #justkeepswimming 😂

If you have this on your workout to do list then do it as it’s a great feeling at the end!
