He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting
My husband and I love to walk around the woods on our property. We meander along and chat, the hubs stops to look for twisted branches that he can use to make walking sticks and I stop to snap pictures. One evening after a nasty storm, we went for a walk and found a tree had fallen over our pathway and had gotten hung up on another tree; we ducked under it and went on. My husband was fresh out of a sling from having surgery and didn’t want to address the limb, saying, “I will bring the tractor down and remove it later”. Well his later turned into days and weeks, and the tree kept falling closer to the ground, until we could no longer just duck under it. So one evening my husband decided that he was going to try and pull it out of the way by hand. He latched onto a limb and commenced to pulling, gently at first, with no results he then began to pull rather aggressively, when suddenly I heard a snap...the next thing I saw was the bottom of my husbands shoes as he was floating through the air and with a surprisingly loud thud, sprawled across the ground, with limb still in hand. My hand instantly flew over my mouth fearing that he was hurt, just as I opened my mouth to ask, I heard the rumbling of laughter, that turned into a good belly laugh for both of us. My fear that my husband had re-injured his shoulder quickly left as he assured me he was okay. He has been in so much pain over the last few years, that laughter was few and for between for him. But just a God told Job he would laugh again, so did my husband - and laugh we did! The tree, well, it’s still over the path!
The tree in photo is the actual culprit of our laughter
Reflection: Even in times of pain, laughter can be good for the soul.
