To be...or not to be? 
Oh that eternally provocative question.

For many many many many many years of my life, my fitness routine was an escape route. Distance running happened to be my drug of choice, and I used it oh so dearly and desperately. Run, to escape imperfection. Run, to escape my body. Run, to escape my mind. Run, to escape the world beyond the beautiful tree-lined paths that I trod. Run, to escape feeling...feeling anything at all.

It was really, really effective. Until I stopped running.

Grâce à many, many years and a sh*t ton of self work, I've learned to forgo my Nikes. I've learned to savor stillness. I've learned to fall in love with fitness modalities that allow me to feel and express and process and sweat and scream and smile and embrace moments of just. being. human. -
I've learned--I'm learning--to be where my feet are. 
Because I refuse to let my fitness routine be an escape. Because I refuse to live a life that necessitates escaping. -

Before leaving my bed this morning, I wrote three things I’m grateful for in my journal. They were:
1. Cuddles 
2. Chris’s smile 
3. Shelter to protect me from allergy season/chemicals in the air (🙅🏻‍♀️) They’re simple. Maybe silly. But real. 
I used to stress so much about what my response should be to this. Learning to move past judgement and overthinking has allowed me to appreciate the smaller sources of goodness. It’s also faster and more fun. 😝 
I recently added this back in to my morning routine and I’ve felt a complete mood shift with how the rest of my day goes. 🥰

I believe that the biggest thing that I’ve learned via this platform and my work in the physical world is how hugely important and strikingly impactful community is. Without it I would be teaching to empty rooms, influencing no one, and sharing knowledge with crickets. As much as we all like to believe that this hustle is all about how hard we grind, it is directly connected to those around us. They are the ones holding us up as we climb.

7 miles round trip- 1400ft Incline, entirely too much sun, and one heart attack later.

I'm sore, tired, and don't wanna move. Means it was great. 😁 Lots of wash hiking and fun little scrambles.

Current status: 8/52 peaks completed.

Our bodies want to binge because in the wild, when we found a tree bursting with fruit, it made sense to eat as much as we could, knowing it might be a while before we found another good meal. Refined sugars, processed carbs and saturated fat heavily trigger this response.⁣⁣

The biggest suppliers of fast food employ the greatest food chemists in the world. Their job is to create synthetic chemicals that can produce the greatest pleasure response for the consumer, while keeping costs as low as possible. The average customer is completely unaware that they are being programmed to become addicted to these “food” products. After a while, anything else becomes boring, unsatisfying and even unpalatable.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Fortunately, this is reversible. When we switch to a healthier diet, our dopamine receptors can be fixed and our taste buds become sensitive again. The food that was once boring, now seems to burst with flavor.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We can enjoy frozen berries that taste like ice cream that are filled with antioxidants (like vitamins C and E) that help protect us from cell damage caused by environmental pollutants. Hello beautiful skin 👋🏼⁣⁣

We can enjoy more leafy greens that supply us with iron, magnesium and potassium to help keep our bones and organs healthy.⁣⁣

Tight hips? 😬 I’ve been teaching a lot of corporate yoga classes and the common ask is to focus on tension in the hips... sitting for long periods of time, stress and anxiety all gets stored in the hip area causing tension and stiffness. Try these 6 all levels poses to target those hips! Might feel intense but you’ll feel SO much better after, I promise!! 😄

I use to be a "check my bags" kinda traveler. ⁣⁣

I traveled with soooo much crap.  Way too many shoes, outfits and accessories.  You would think I was moving there or something.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
The majority of the time, I used only a quarter of what I packed 🤪 and now that you have to pay for checked in luggage (minus SWA 😍) it's not even worth it.  Plus all the time wasted at the end of the flight to collect your luggage too - nah, it's a waste of time if I am traveling solo or with my hubs... it's not that serious to pack one small carry on, and less clothes.⁣⁣

Talk is cheap. Fat talk is cheaper!

One year ago we celebrated our 20 year high school reunion with our old friends from @hcsaknights and yesterday one year later to the day we Fat Talkers recreated the photo to show our progress! This past year we’ve both been through a lot. Mostly good! Nothing worse than anyone else has had to go through. Though we have very different lives we decided we needed to make a change. We wanted to live. Not just because we want to look better, but because we want to feel better. Be better. Be there for our children as they grow up. Be there for our wives and family. We decided to change our lives not for us but for the ones we love! The journey isn’t over. Not even close. We still have a long way to go but we are so grateful to our wives and children for their support! For letting us take a little time each week to go film and make fools of ourselves. We appreciate all the love and support from friends and family! Thank you!

Time to geek out on some mind to muscle connection with a little ‘Spot the difference’.

TARGET MUSCLE ➡️ REAR DELT

In both videos you see my posterior muscle groups working, but if we look a little closer, which muscle group is dominantly taking charge?
.
In the LEFT VIDEO my range is moving beyond where it should be and I’m isolating my traps and there is little activation in my rear deltoids. To correct this in the RIGHT video I’ve shortened the range to keep tension and thus my REAR DELTOID is now taking more of the intensity.
.
Training today with an eagle eye, I can observe, assess and correct, as this is one of the muscle group I want to improve on.
.
Take videos especially the rear view (Oi Oi😂) to make sure you’re training the intended muscle group.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Ontario today.
.
Spent some time outside with the girls, swinging on the swings, jumping on the trampoline, listening to the birds chirp.
.
The snow is melting and there is clear dry pavement.
.
As we came back inside for lunch and as the kids have some quiet time watching tv, I plugged into some work.
.
Yes, work on weekends. Something I never would agree to after working Monday to Friday for the past 10 years.
.
But when you have the flexibility to work from home, from your computer, having fun at the same time....
.
It doesn’t seem like work.
.
Some won’t understand, won’t support you or turn the other way.
.
Keep in mind many will support you, encourage you and totally get your mindset.
.
Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. Building a business isn’t for everyone, or everyone would be doing it.
.
And that’s okay, that’s what makes us all unique. We all serve a purpose on this planet.
.
All I know is that, we are in control of our destiny.
.
We could sit back and wallow in self pity parties or we can step up, take control and make a lasting impact.
.
Opportunity is all around us, you just have to be open to it, willing to take risks and work hard.

Online business is the way of the future and I’m undeniably blessed to live the ambassador life.
