Nice little session today of Skipping, bagwork, Shadow Boxing and Corework. I like to video because I can learn a lot, note what I am doing well and acknowledge what I need to work on - example above - happy that I am moving better than I was and much lighter on my feet, need to stop looking at the ground or downwards as at superheavyweight I will rarely get the opportunity to fight someone shorter than 6ft! So chin down eyes up! Pivoting for hooks is getting better but want to keep the elbow higher. Happy that I am keeping my guard up and close and moving the feet well with jabs. So loads to work on but getting a little better everyday - plus it’s fun 😁

@Regrann from @margie_superstar - Before and after: flex edition. The “before” ones were taken at the end of the Bodybuilding.com $250K Transformation Challenge in mid-April. I made good progress then on my own by just watching what I was eating and being consistent in my strength training 3x a week with cardio on the non-training days.  The “after” was from my weekly check-in on Saturday. Definitely leaner and with more developed muscles! 💪🏼

I did not get the opportunity to workout today because my plantar fasciitis and tendinitis is acting up from being on my feet all week. 😡 That in itself is frustrating for sure, however, I ate clean today! 😊 First time in months to be quite honest. Messy hair don’t care!!! This is my last week of class and stress levels are high 😜😜😜 I didn’t make it to the gym today and hoping for a less crazy day so I can go tomorrow. Trying to balance the solo-parenting, grad-student, working-mom life and sometimes lifting has to give 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m currently managing my eating through intermittent fasting (bye-bye breakfast 🍳) which helps me keep my calories balanced without actually tracking my macros. I want to get back to that soon but tracking tends to go when I feel like I’m in survival mode!!! I feel good about what is working for me right now and am 100% guilt-free. Sometimes you have to do what you can do! Some new goals in the works and am excited to share soon! 🎃🎃🎃

I’m just a girl who decided to change.

I’m no different than you. I struggled with my weight. I lost confidence in myself. I let my weight hold me back from getting in the pool at the beach. I felt the eyes of judgment when my clothes felt a little too tight. I wasn't sure I’d ever beat this battle with yo-yo dieting that held consequences much bigger than my weight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then one day I decided to change. I decided it was time to show up for myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I stopped eating Moosetrack's ice cream every night. I stopped using a work luncheon or a friend's birthday as a reason to eat poorly or not exercise. I stopped lying to herself and faced the lies I’d been telling myself for years.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided it was time to create the best version of myself (and that didn't just mean a healthier body). That decision changed everything.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What came after wasn't easy. I still decided daily whether I would stick to my resolve or enjoy drinks at Happy Hour with friends, veg out on the couch instead of working out, or sneak that Snickers bar from the vending machine. The more I chose myself, the less tempting it was to choose the temporary high of an afternoon ice cream sundae.

No shame in my lazy cook game! 🙋🏻‍♀️If you’re not much of a cook like me but you still want to eat well, here’s a cheat sheet that can help you with your grocery shopping. There are lots of ways to cut down on time spent in the kitchen if you’re okay with creating simple meals. I usually pick a protein first and then pair it with a carb and fat that will go well with it. Here are some ideas for you:

💥FRUITS & VEGGIES💥
Pre-chopped fruits and veggies
Frozen fruits and veggies
Pre-made salads
•
💥PROTEINS💥
Pre-grilled and sliced chicken breast
Frozen turkey burgers
Canned tuna
Eggbeaters
Greek yogurt
Protein powder/protein drinks
Protein bars
•
💥STARCHY CARBS💥
Potatoes and sweet potatoes
Squash
Frozen/microwaveable rice
Old fashioned oats

You can get shredded in six easy steps. The formula is simple, but if you're not doing number 6, then you're stabbing yourself in the foot with a lightsaber.

Train to build muscle. You want to hold on to your muscle during your cut? Train to build muscle. Train each body part 2x per week. The first time, train for strength and mass to build dense Type II muscle fibers. The second time, train that muscle for size to hit those Type I muscle fibers. If you want to see an example workout, check out the link in my bio.

Eat in a caloric deficit with high protein. For Calories, BW (lbs) x 10-12 will work wonders. You want your protein to be at least 0.82g/lb (this is the minimum effective dose), but if you aim for 1g/lb per day, then you'll hit this minimum no problem.

Get your sleep (at least 7 hours per night) and if you're going to take supplements, creatine will help maintain your muscle and caffeine will help you burn more Calories per day.

Lastly, be consistent! Keep up with the plan and you'll be shredded.

There are several reasons people put on weight overtime without really realizing it. The modern american diet is a large part of the problem.

Most people eat out daily, and often past satiation. You don't have to finish your food everytime you eat! This is largely a problem because these bad habits were instilled in all of us at an early age. Eating out is okay especially if you are aware of what is actually in food. Most don’t, and a meal at cheesecake factory, or BJ’s can be 1000-1500 calories easy.

Mindless snacking throughout the day while working, or watching TV, Netflix, YouTube etc, can really add up. Especially with things like chips, and candy. If you want to snack try swapping these foods for things like carrots, cucumber, or celery. Pair them with some hummus and that can be an amazing snack, much healthier than digging into the chips.

Try an avoid liquid calories as well. Once and awhile its okay to enjoy a coke, a frappuccino, or a beer. Just don’t make them a part of your daily dieting. Drinking alcohol can also led to those weekend binges, which can completely wipe out a weeks progress if you’re trying to lose weight. I have a good amount of experience with this unfortunately lol.

Lastly, the sedentary lifestyle most live isn’t helping either. If you work a desk job and are sitting most of the day, I would recommend that you stand up and stretch, or walk around the office every 30 minutes or so. You could also look into a standing desk. Standing is much more beneficial than sitting.

Try to be aware of these things and overtime the weight that you may have accumulated over the years will slowly come off. Start slow! Don’t completely revamp your lifestyle all at once. Take small steps like cutting out soda.

I no longer recognize the girl in the day 1 pics, but I still remember how hopeless, frustrated & embarrassed I felt about my weight.

I remember wondering: if this time I’d finally be successful or if I would fail again and why it seemed so easy for others and insurmountable for me.

It's late and I'm tired af BUT I'm proud of myself.  I was sitting on the couch, thinking about grabbing some junk to eat and instead I went straight to the garage and jumped on the bike, pushed out 35 mins.  Then decided to get a strength training session in as well.  This is the mindset I need to keep regardless of my level of energy or challenges.  Not sure if I pushed myself too hard or not.  I guess I'll see how much pain I feel later.  Hopefully, it won't be too bad.  Now, recovery time. 💪

Man how the mighty have fallen LOL. I was up to curling 80s on the preacher curl no problem, struggling with 50s now with any sort of decent reps. I know it'll come back, but it just makes me mad with myself that I let it go away in the first place. Wasn't the best workout I've ever had, didn't feel that great because my diet just hasn't clicked in yet, but I did go get it in and I pushed until muscle failure

Man how the mighty have fallen LOL. I was up to curling 80s on the preacher curl no problem, struggling with 50s now with any sort of decent reps. I know it'll come back, but it just makes me mad with myself that I let it go away in the first place. 5th day on my diet and my body is not wanting to adjust LOL. It still wants sugar for energy creation and does not want to burn fat which leaves me feeling drained and kind of shaky. Ate a big protein bar and some beef jerky starting to feel a little better about to go hit the gym

I've said this for so long!! I have LITERALLY put my Crohns disease into remission by eating correctly (most of the time) and exercising regularly. An illness that according to my gastrointerologist is not manageable without a long list of drugs that cause other issues as a result! Taking control of my eating habits has changed my life yall! Pretty happy with today's updated body scan. There was apparently a calibration issue on the second column from the left. Results have been pretty steady. Finally in the 13s for BF % with a slight increase on muscle mass which is a huge relief as I was concerned there would be a loss picking up cardio training for a half. #progress #250kchallenge2018 #buildyourbody #gettingfit

I have only seen 149 3 times this year on the scale. A week before the bodybuildingcom #250kchallenge2018 challenge ended and a few days after. I know it's just a number but when this year started it was my goal to get Below 150. I started at 184. I hit 148.2 😵 a few days ago. This program is getting me the results I have been struggling with the last few months. Getting that last layer of fat off is very tough. But so is this trainer! I don't often omit things are hard. I like to be challenged and I like to rise above. So to say this trainer is hard please note that it's f****** hard. 😭😁 so why do it...
I catch my arms in the mirror all the time now. I'm more vascular than I've ever been in my life. Seeing hamstrings finally! Noticing quad seperation when flexing. Finally starting to lose that lower belly pooch. And in all honesty that was the goal when this year started.  I'm giving it my all. I'm not able to keep up with posts daily as I intended. Working full-time, being a wife and a mother of six I had to cut out everything that was extra to allow enough time to complete this trainer successfully. I'll be on and off IG but wanted to check and share my results to motivate and encourage. 😊

Plantar fasciitis and tendinitis in my feet and ankles! Those of you who have experienced Plantar fasciitis, what has helped you?  I'm going in a couple of months now and it's not getting better and I need to get moving or my RA gets worse and I will continue gaining weight.  What shoes have you found are the most supportive? How about inserts or compression socks? I'm over it and really need to get moving.
