#JapaneseStarFestival "#TANABATA " based on some legends from Japan and #China has been held in Japan since the EDO period (1603-1867). The name of TANABATA was born from TANABATATSUME (female weaver) in Japanese #indigenous legend, who performs sacred rites for the Spirit (God) of water on the 7th of July.
This TANABATATSUME is combined with the Weaver (Vega) in Chinese legend who is separated from her lover, the Cowherd (Altair) by the Milky Way and is allowed to see him only once a year on July 7 crossing the Milky Way.
On the 7th of July we display #bamboo grass with strips of paper and decorations to celebrate the reunion of the Weaver (Vega) & the Cowherd (Altair). When we write a wish on the strip and hang it on the bamboo it is believed that the wish will come true. - 14 minutes ago
