📍Moro Rock

The road to Moro Rock was closed, so we hiked the 2.5 mile road up on fresh snow and frosted trees. We got to the start of the steps up to the top of the rock, and proceeded but realized there would be no view of the Sierras. Instead, we made a happy snowman on the rock, to hopefully bring cheer to the next person that makes it that far. All in all, the frosted trees were quite magnificent and made the 5 mile hike totally worth it.

“We don’t struggle to pray because what we think about prayer, but we struggle with prayer because of what we think about God” Pastor Teri Crist ... I grew up being taught that prayer was kneeling down, folding my arms and bowing my head. I didn’t fully understand those steps and quite often limited my prayer imagination to only exist in that space. As I’ve grown older I can see the function and purpose of reverential motions and actions ~ slowing ourselves down, catching hold of our breath, head bowed in respect, and quiet thought out words, slowing down to God’s time, to hear God’s voice ~ it most definitely has its place. I have learned though that these patterns can be exercised daily in many circumstances. When I accepted this truth for me, I started to truly understand the God that I have always believed lived in my heart and walked with me in my steps. I have not always been in the “most holiest of places” and have received some of my most profound inspiration, heard his voice the loudest, and felt his hand (literally), guiding me out of harms way. I want to keep my spiritual imagination alive and vibrant because I want to continue to know this God that was willing to rescue me. I want to be like that God that would rescue me. Pray big prayers, sing, rejoice, be quiet, sit still .. but overall imagine a God who can understand, comfort, and love in a most sublime way ... #grateful #mightygod #god #prayer #imagine #imagination #knowhim #worshiphim #praydaily #alldayeveryday #pastorterrycrist #mororock #sequoianationalpark #summer2018 📸 @caitlyninis
