@saltvine_tapas_bar is a #lebanese #tapas bar. It's compact, and we found seating to be a bit of a squeeze, with chairs and tables quite close to each other! This is probably because the restaurant caters for both drinks and meals. #porquenolosdos ? 🍽️ .
Our dinner was rich in smokey flavours.
1. Charred Eggplant
This was a wet and sauce-y dish. The eggplant combined well with its variety of condiments, including the abrupt sourness of the pickle, the nutty flavour of roasted cumin and bite of the roast pepper. Fitting all its constituents onto a fork was a meaningful challenge. .
2. Chargrilled Lamb Shoulder
This was a sexy dish. The lamb pulled away tenderly and after being swished around the aromatic grilled onion 'labneh' (kinda like sour yoghurt) sauce, every mouthful was #satisfying . .
3. Arnabeet 🥦
This was the most interesting in flavour. Resembling fried chicken, we were pleasantly surprised by the caramel-popcorn-like crunch to the cauliflower. It had been fried with ingredients such as tahini, preserved lemon, almond and raisin chutney - making it sweet, tangy and nutty in flavour. 🍿.
