Here’s a few more photos from the Skate Safari a few weeks ago of rad old dudes ripping!
Spot #2 ~ Pearcedale is truly a beast of a bowl and takes no prisoners! Blood was spilt, beer was guzzled and the sun blistered us all.

A couple of weekends back I joined a bunch of fellow “senior” Skateboarder’s on a Skate Safari across the far eastern burbs of Melbourne. The day started early but we were rewarded with an empty park and a big box of donuts!
Considering the average age of the skaters on board was 40-50 y.o the level of skating was ripping and the vibes high! Stay tuned for more photos from the day.. 👀

I shot this photo of underground legend Paul Chan doing his signature backside grab bluntslide to fakie over 20 years ago. It was amazing how far he used to slide and the air that he got yanking out! I still remember those sessions like yesterday..

@oldngold barks a tailslide over the hip and into the void. Ararat would have to be one of the best new bowls in Victoria to be built recently. Shame it’s a 3 hour drive from Melbourne..

It’s a little departure from my regular skate content but my day shooting street photography yesterday has got me sparked to add more variety to my work!

Let me know if I should shoot more photos like these?

Yesterday in Sunshine I found myself with a free moment up my sleeve. So to kill some time I set to exploring the town with some good ol’ fashioned Street Photography. .
The outskirts of Melbourne can hide some interesting places so it was fun to explore the streets, observe the locals and try to get a feel for the history and vibe of the town.
.
I probably won’t be back in a hurry but thanks for having me Sunshine!

Last year in the dead of winter we made the fool hardy decision to do a camp mission to skate the legendary spots around Canberra.
A little bit of cold weather didn’t slow @deanromeo down and he truly earnt himself MVP of the trip. This crazy tight and kinked bowl is at the end of a mini skate run. Charnwood is a rugged slice of Aussie skate history and to really do much more then scratch the snaggle tooth lip is gnarly!
New Deal with ease and steeze - Dean don’t mess around!

Noel is a ripping example of shredding well into your 50’s. I had a great day skating with fellow skate vets on Saturday and can’t wait to share more of the photos from the Skate Safari 3 event.

This place will forever hold a spot in my heart. So many years of my youth were spent skating at Hobart’s street mecca “The Fountain”, “Roundabout” or “Fountainside”. It’s the veritable Love Park/Embarcadero of Tasmania which is still highly skateable to this day. The ledges sure have taken a beating - but it’s still amazing to have a hassle free street spot (especially in this day and age) right in the heart of a city. I think I first sw fs noseslide a high ledge there around ‘96 - so I was stoked last Xmas to find I out I could still do them!

Thanks to @laifalnadal for the photo and letting me shoot the trick he wanted to get.

Viva La Fountain!
30+ years of skateboarding and still going strong!

@deanparsons worked hard for this 5.0 grind to fakie. With three quick ollies in the run up and the relentless heat it didn’t come easy. This plaza was amazing though - with every obstacle you could possibly imagine - and all untouched!

Pretty hyped on my latest photo in print! Thanks to @dirtsqid for landing it with ease so I could get the perfect shot whilst battling heat stroke, fatigue and sweaty fingers.
Out now in the new @fuknoath
Fun fact* after we shot the photo I ate 2 ice creams, drank 2 Gatorade’s and almost passed out falling into the shelves at the convenience store across the street 😖
