Qantas Link 717-200 *
(VH-YQX) taxiing on Bravo for A1, RWY 19L.
Like most 717s from what I've seen, VH-YQX has flown for multiple different airlines. The aircraft was ordered new by Olympic Aviation and was delivered in December of 1999. The aircraft featured (and still has) two BR700 engines. Flying for the Olympic Airline subsidiary for 4 years as SX-BOB, the 717 made the conversion to Olympic Airways in December 2003. After flying for more than 3 years with Olympic, VH-YQX was delivered to SpanAir as EC-KHK in July 2007. Next, the aircraft flew for Blue1 as OH-BLN and Cobham Aviation between December 2010 and Feburary 2016. From Feburary 2016, the aircraft was registered current with Qantas Link.

Wishing a happy #50years birthday to the Boeing 747!
-
One of the most iconic aircraft in the history of aviation has just hit 50 years old! Designed and manufactured by famous American Aerospace company, Boeing, the 747 has become internationally famous due to its iconic 'hump' and four engines! The aircraft has been redesigned in 6 different variants: the 747-100, SP (special Performance), 200, 300, 400 and now 8. Unveiled in 1969 and commercially flown in 1970 by Panam, Joe Sutter (Father of the 747) and his team intuitively designed the aircraft to feature a hump to allow for a more convenient loading and unloading of cargo (as that's where the future of the 747 was predicted), where the nose of the aircraft would raise and large cargo could easily be loaded on. Sadly however, this international icon is starting to show its age and is quickly being replaced by newer aircraft such as the 787, A350 and A380 (which will probably soon stop production).
