There’s so much love for this team. We truly care about each other, and work together to stay focused on the guest experience. It’s part of what makes us unique. Meet Evan. Evan is a Line Cook at Commonwealth who is completing his Culinary Arts Degree at Midwest Culinary Institute. Not only does he work in the kitchen—he is also the first to show on days when we ask for help with projects.
If you want Evan’s advice on what to order at Commonwealth, it would would be the Lamb Ragu. You may run in to him at another Covington establishment, Gutierrez Deli ordering his favorite tacos. In his spare time you can find him enjoying his favorite film (Young Frankenstein), playing disc golf with fellow cook Matt, or canoeing on the Little Miami. The back of the house crew is also frequently known to go bowling on Mondays when Commonwealth is closed. We are still trying to figure out who has best score. Stop in for the Lamb Ragu and give Evan a wave in the kitchen.

We are making progress on the new rooftop bar called Yonder by Commonwealth. Chef and Uncle Donnie have built this thing board by board. Some of our team members have helped seal and stain cedar. Samone is studying Chemistry in college and works as a host at Commonwealth. She highly suggests the gnocchi from Commonwealth's menu. In her spare time she loves dancing, singing, and doing yoga. If she could add one song to our vintage jukebox it would be" Where I Sleep" by Emeli Sandé.

We made a batch of Sorghum Schnecken for your rainy Saturday. Schnecken are a type of sweet bun that was a traditional Saturday morning treat in German homes at the beginning of the 20th century.  The name schnecken means snails in German and refers to the shape of the pastry

You may remember waiting in line at Virginia Bakery for their famous recipe. Commonwealth’s version uses sweet sorghum. Stop in today 10 am-2 pm for @deeperrootsdrc coffee and brunch.
