Canon Australia

#TAKEOVER : @seanscottphotography is taking over this week. Stick around to see a curation of his favourite images. Check out what’s in his kit:

#TAKEOVER: "Hi, my name is @seanscottphotography and I am honoured to take over the @CanonAustralia page this week. Having learnt my craft on Canon cameras over 20 years ago I have grown to be part of the family. I have ran my own photography gallery in Burleigh Heads, Queensland for 15 years now and I am just as passionate and inspired as ever. Over the last 5 years, I have dedicated a lot of my travels to Australia where I have specialised in getting off the beaten track to live the adventure that I have been trying to capture in my photographs. It really is the search that opens your eyes to all the beauty that is right in front of you." - @seanscottphotography, our guest curator this week.

"The pointy ol majestic mountain Kirkjufell in Iceland. Wide angle lenses certainly don't do any justice to its scale, it's pretty huge! It towers over the small town of Grundarfjordur. If you zoom in you can see a couple of houses on the base of the mountain, probably one of the cooler places you can live." - @caseyflynnphotography

"Situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo, only metres from the water, it is easy to see why this church captures the heart of so many by day. By night, it becomes the perfect setting for a Milky Way shoot, as it is one of the darkest places on the planet. It is almost as though you can reach out and touch the stars.

This is just one of those magical shots. The first time you see the Milky Way over here you almost feel shocked and in disbelief as to what your eyes are seeing. It takes you on a journey through the stars at just how gigantic the universe really is and how small we really are in comparison.

Built in 1935, The Church Of Good Shepherd located at Lake Tekapo is the perfect place to capture this phenomenon. We got incredibly lucky with this shot too. After weeks of rain we arrived when the clouds cleared, the wind stopped & the nebula of the Milky Way rose in the perfect spot." - @photography_by_ko

"Early mornings at Noosa 🌅
~
Woke up, looked out the window and saw the burning sky! Raced down to the water but couldn’t find a composition I was happy with so I put the drone up in the hope of capturing the epic sunrise! Whilst the drone was up, I turned around and saw this amazing scene! Incredible moody clouds with the top being lit up by the sun and then reflecting! I forgot about the shot but I’m stoked I went back and found it! 🤙🏽" - @ianhollisphotography

"Lake Baikal is a rift lake, formed within a deep rift created by tectonic movement along fault lines in the Russian region of Siberia. It is the deepest lake in the world, the 7th largest by surface area, the oldest existing lake in the world (estimated at 25 million years) and boasts remarkably crystal clear water and biodiversity.
It's no surprise that Lake Baikal has a long history of bizarre events, legends, myths and folklore. It's truly one of the world’s most beautiful, remote and amazing lakes; Russia’s “sacred sea”. Whilst there, when the super moon rose, it was truly a magical moment befitting of this location and such a sight to behold!" - @claradaviesphotography

"Visited Ramshead Rock with the king @robmorellophoto. We were hoping for a burner, but last minute the skies cleared up right on cue.😂😂😂 I was loving the reflection here, the sun gave it a bit more pop. Even though the conditions let us down, I prefer to capture an image in its conditions, instead of adding my own in." -@nathanmattinsonphotography
