I believe that everyone can achieve their health and fitness goals without ANY food restriction.

You don’t have to stop going out to dinner, skip out on ice cream with your kids, or make yourself miserable by trying to cut out bread, sugar, dairy, or anything that’s not a vegetable.

You may be thinking, well sure YOU might be able to eat those things, Alessandra, but I pack on the pounds every time I do, so they gotta go.

I have worked with hundreds of clients now on their nutrition with flexible dieting as the method we follow.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most of these clients came from a background of eating “clean”, or have restricted and then later fell “off track” because they couldn’t stick to the plan.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The issue usually is that these clients are not eating enough in the first place (which puts them in no place to be trying to lose body fat), but also their mindset surrounding food is wonky AF.

Fat loss comes down to this:
👉🏻Calories in < calories out
👉🏻Biofeedback markers are consistent and functioning

What do I mean by biofeedback?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sleep, stress, energy levels, hunger levels, digestion, hormones, etc.

If you or your current coach is not paying attention to biofeedback, they’re doing you a huge disservice.

Training feels better and better as the second trimester goes on. Some days I forget I’m pregnant 🤣

First week doing full back squats again after that lower back pain and YAY for no pain but I also figured out low-bar feels way better than high bar so I’m going to proceed with that for now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Two things I’ve been focusing on while lifting during this pregnancy:
1️⃣Keeping an activated core throughout all of my lifts
2️⃣Breathing through all of my lifts (opposed to holding my breath on the main compound lifts to lift heavier)

+Do you expect motivation to show up on its own?
+Do you believe you’re stuck with what you were born with?
+Do you believe that you can’t change the type of person you are?
+Are you sticking with the safe option because you want to make sure you succeed?

If you answered yes to the questions above, that means you have a fixed mindset. I used to think this way too (and there’s occasions where I still do), but for the most part I’ve shifted my mindset to the growth mindset and you can too.

People with the growth mindset:
+choose a challenge over perfection👉🏼take messy action!
+have a desire to learn and evolve

Pregnancy sleep gains are REAL💤

But I’m starting to think that’s just because this little nugget is going to steal ALL MY SLEEP GAINS come June 🤣

I literally look forward to going to bed at night because I’m just so exhausted by the end of every day, but also because our bed is like a magical cloud with a built in sound machine **cough**cough** CAL. But for real, my @lullbed has been a dream come true.

Sometimes your diet will be boring.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with SIMPLE AF meals. In fact, simple meals make up the majority of my food intake.

Why?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They’re easy. They take minimal effort and prep time. They get the job done.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re all “busy”, so why make life harder by making your meals complicated?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As much as I love trying new recipes, and splurging on the latest cookbook, those meals don’t make up the majority of my day, because if they did, I’d literally be cooking in the kitchen ALL DAY.

Your girl ain’t got no time for that, I’m running a business and growing a human!

Keep it simple:
-Protein

Woke up in a funk today so after wallowing for a little while, I decided to stop being an angry pregnant woman and do what makes me happy:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•Got a short but awesome workout in
•Put some makeup on + threw my hair in a scrunchie
•Threw on my comfiest sweatshirt
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Small + seemingly insignificant things, but choosing to try to see the positive instead of wasting an entire day moping around.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shifting your focus to all of the good that surrounds you on a daily basis is the key to living a more positive, abundant life ❤️ Happy Sunday friends ☺️ #evolveyourperspective

Felt strong AF today 💪🏻

After a few chiro visits and doing some mobility work my hip/sciatica pain is gone 🙌🏻 Front Squats felt so good today and I’ve been continuing the short/sweet workout vibe.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what I did:
5 minute warm-up on bike, then foam rolling/core activation/dynamic warm-up
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
◾️Front Squats 5x5 (135#)
◾️BB Reverse Lunges 4x8/leg (65#)
Superset👇🏻
◾️BW Hip Thrusts 4x15
◾️Stability Ball Leg Curls 3x AMRAP (not shown)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Something important to note for hip thrusts (no matter if you’re doing them BW, with the bar, etc) is to KEEP YOUR CORE ACTIVATED. In the first clip of hip thrusts (3rd video) I’m doing them incorrectly, you can see my back arching, rib cage wide open and zero core activation. Correct form in final video. When I first started doing them, I’d do them the wrong way and I would only feel it in my lower back, not my glutes. Keep a neutral spine and your glutes will light on 🔥 👌🏻#evolveyourperspective

I don’t think I truly learned what it meant to love your training until I was interning at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Up until that point, I obviously LOVED fitness and training hard. I dedicated my entire college education to it as an Exercise Science grad, but the experience I got that summer working in one of the top 10 gyms in the country is what fueled my fire.

If you aren’t showing up to your training and having FUN, then why are you training the way that you are?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not saying it should be easy, or that you should be sweating butterflies, but I am saying know the difference between doing something to add value to your life, rather than doing something that takes away from your happiness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your training program should always:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Be effective- It brings you closer to your goals with each session.
⚡️Excite you- Do you dread going to the gym or can you not wait??
⚡️Reduce stress, not add it- This is where having a written program comes in clutch
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you can’t say “YES” to the above 3 things, maybe it’s time for something new.

Pregnancy has taught me a lot so far and we’re not even halfway done🌟PSA: Swipe over to see my morning belly compared to evening belly 🤣 Josh says I’m only pregnant at night.

🌈I’ve learned to enjoy every step of the journey. As anxious as I am to meet this little man, I’m fully enjoying quiet nights on the couch with Josh and Cal, and getting 10 hours of sleep almost daily 🤣
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈I’ve learned what “listen to your body” means completely and to let go of my “Type A” tendencies. Sometimes you just can’t plan absolutely everything, and that’s ok.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈I’ve learned to embrace the changes being made in my body and as much as I get frustrated about acne, stretch marks on my boobs, or seeing my abs become an ab (singular 😂) I know it’s all worth it to grow a healthy baby boy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌈Finally, I’ve learned to appreciate all of the little things @joshscutnik does for me and doesn’t complain about. Cleaning my dirty dishes (including the despised SPATULA LOL, anyone else hate cleaning that thing?!?), throwing loads of laundry in, making our basement gym inviting instead of a dungeon, and taking Cal out at night so the monsters get him and not me...to name a few.
